Arches recommation.
Discussion
im looking to replace my arches for my 1992 mini. it used to have Standard arches from rover.
my wheels is 12x6 it stick out roughly about 1 and half inch out of front wings. same for rear but 1" out.
i would like to bolt on directly onto standard arch holes.
Im not fussy about what arches look like as long it fit onto the holes without any drilling. basically i would like have standard arches but bit wider if you get my drift.
any recommation.
I always like the arches which carry the chrome trim over the arches as a continuous strip. They are the original 'Group 2' arches and are available from most of the good suppliers. I don't know whether they'll fit the same holes though - a bit unlikely that any different-from-standard ones will.
They really look good when painted in body colour. It's a bit difficult fitting the chrome trim in the region where the end of the arch meets the body flange. I always use a hairdryer to mould the trim and glue it on locally with adhesive. It still comes off, though, and I usually end up with very small self tapping screws to hold it in place.
Hi Jay,
You'll be amazed at how much better the car handles and feels with 10" wheels. My advice is to get good tyres, like Yoko's and go for a maximum wheel width of 5". Use about 32 psi tyre pressure and make sure your rear suspension is set up properly as I have posted earlier with 1/8" toe-in and zero to 0.5 degrees neg camber.
I hope this helps.

well the capacity has got to be down at the moment because i'm only 18 however it didn't stop me from playing with the engine itself so here goes
998 high comp engine (flat top pistons)
12G295 head
swifttune SW5 cam
maniflow cooper freeflow manifold
full single box maniflow system
oselli torquemaster manifold
HIF 38 carb with K+N filter
uprated ignition lumenition leads and ignition
gear box at the moment including very long final drive 2.95 i believe
final set up spec on rollers = 66.1bhp 5500rpm 69lb/ft 4400rpm run the car up to 105 mph on the rollers aswell, tis fun
oh and i took out all the interior and fitted a cobra seat and harness and just a passenger seat and fire extingusher just to up the power to weight ratio
