Alternator for X Reg 1.3 cooper mini - Will a 1996 one fit?

Hi

My brother's mini's alternator has given up the ghost.

It gives just over 12v when the engine is running.

I was looking to pick a used or reconditioned one up for him, or if not buy new.

My question is, will one from a 1996 model fit a 1999 model? Did the spec or mounting change?

Would either of these be worth a go?

neither of those will fit, it needs to be off an mpi, both of those are off/for earlier cars
