Warm up minis properly in these cold wintery months? mine does not like stopping for traffic and iddling as the revs slowly dwindle and she cuts out.

in an ideal world i would have a winter runner and just garage the Mini but untill i can afford that i will stick to the Mini.

Thinner oil in the SU dashpot might help? What air inlet/filter are you running? If you have seperate Alloy inlet / LCB exhaust then plumb in the 'water heated' feature in winter months and then bypass it when the weather perks up. I've had 998/1275's with K&N's/K&N in filter box set-ups and never had any winter idling problems.

Im usin a K&N filter, it has a heating element come to think of it which i havent wired up, maybe i should do this!

because the car is supercharged the carb sits at the front so its gets extra cool air when on the move.

i will try the thinner Oil in the dashpot too.

Thanks

You may try to make the mixture a bit richer at idle. It usualy helps.

the other trick with one of those super charger kits is to extend the heater pipe and wrap it round the 'inlet manifold' part

a mate of mine did this (was my idea (patented!!)), first with a length of rubber pipe, then did a better job by wrapping copper pipe in a coil round it and linking the ends with rubber.

it did help
