When I had all the body work redone on my mini cooper. My front two sportpack arches had to have the bolts cut off to have them removed. when you tired to undo them, both the nut and bolt would just turn in the arch. hense why they had to be cut off. Now trying to replace some new bolts in the arch but I don't no what to use as a sealant to keep them in the arch. when the others came off they were just a small bolt moulded in to the arch which looks like some kind of sealant had been used to set them. Didn't no if any one has come across this and what to use to solve this little problem!

I just need something to hold the bolt in place so it will not spin with the nut when it is done up tight.

hope this makes sense...

you can buy scrivits that press into the holes and spread out to hold the new, smaller, screws in - they are a proper rover part.

the look a little like a rawl plug

Will the scrivits work being inside the arch?? I'm not screwing through the arch. The sport pack ones the bigger ones have them set inside the arch so not sure how this would work.

you push the scrivit through the hole (from the inside) and push the arch onto them, then screw the little screw into it so it spreads out inside the hole.

they where only designed to fit the outer ones onto the sills, but ive seen people use them in all the holes.

the other option is to glue little bits of threaded bar into the holes

O I get you. Might have to give this ago. I glue bolts in the holes. But I can't find a glue that is strong enough.

I like the idea of the threaded bar aswel.
