Classic insurance mebbee? Adrian Flux, Footman James etc..
See about a limited mileage policy. Also, get some more training, Pass Plus perhaps?
Whatever you decide, unfortunately I think your age is against you. smile

Classic may be a problem at 17, but start be going to one of the comparison web sites then ring around the insuance companys that have adds in the mini magazen.

Footman James were very cheap for me when I was 18/19. I had just been in a crash after four months of driving too. Quotes from modern car insurers were £1800+ but FJ quoted £650.

They did try to double the cost at the last renewal, but after I got a much lower quote elsewhere they matched it.

However Im not sure if they have become stricter since then on who they offer insurance to based on age.

For a 17 year Old Mini's are definitely the cheapest way to go.

What he said, some companies restrict classic policies to 21/25 and over.

Classic policies are not just based on age. Classics are based mainly on being a second car, limited mileage, Most of the time garaged. Some companies will give classic policies from the age of 19. Some also will only give a classic policy if you've had your liecence over 5 years.

also it doesnt have to be a classic policy, some companies are just tailoring to the customer, ie footman james etc but are still cheaper than most market leading companies.

At the moment for a classic type policy for a young driver.

Footman James and Lancaster are cheapest by miles.

Search isnt working but i thought there was a thread recently dicussing how cheap it is to insure Austin baged minis if youre a young driver.

Ive looked back though previous posts, theres a couple on insurance and HIC were recommended.
