Fitting a DTM silencer to a Year 2000 Mini.
Discussion
My nephew has purchased a Minispares DTM type rear silencer, centre exit and part no. RC40 -055 to fit onto his year 2000 Rover Mini Cooper. He has asked me to give him a hand. Whilst have an unhealthy(!) knowledge of carb. cars I have not worked on the fuel injected later models, which I think have different exhaust hangers, catalytic converters etc.
I have assumed that the existing exit pipe from the first silencer is cut as it comes out straight towards the rear subframe. I am unclear what exhaust hangers are required.
Any and all guidance much appreciated.

he needs to buy an RC40-057 which is the link pipe that goes between the silencer box and the car.
he will also need a pair of rubber bobbins which will fit through the bracket on the exhaust and some holes thet need drilling the back rail of the exhaust.
the front mount can eithe be left off, or remove the wire hanger on the frame and use an early mini rubber mount block and bracket.

the rc40-057 is just a link pipe, if you want to run a two silencer system you need the rc40-062, which is a second silencer with of the correct length and with the cat flange fitted.
running two silencers and the cat will make it very quite, just the cat and the dtm box will be a little noisier.
