Hi all

as per my previous post - I am considering buying a Mini Cooper as a bit of a hobby/toy - always had a soft spot for them since my first 2 cars were minis many moons ago.

However....having just had a few quotes back from so called specialists - ie advertised in Mini World I am shocked to say the least

£500 plus from footman james - £350 plus from Heritage...etc etc

Seeing as this would the the 4th car in the household, 3 of which would be registered to me - how come it is so expensive? Limited mileage (3k) - standard 1998 Cooper - 37 yr old Male. Ok I have no NCB to transfer to the mini as I have 4 years on the Beemer and 2 years on the Elise.....but surely!!

The Elise only costs £300 a year on limited mileage and is worth 10 times as much!

Who does eeryone recommend for cheap insurance - car only going to worth £3k

If you join the British Mini Club they have a Classic Mini deal with Peter James Insurance with limited mileage and agreed value.

Classic car insurance is not just for pre 73 cars but starts at 10 years old for a lot of companys.
