Fixing Crash Damage
Discussion
Has anyone got any experience of getting crash damage fixed on a Griffith? i.e. how long should it take to replace everything forward of the front of the chassis? (bodywork, lights, radiator fans etc.).
My Griff has been off the road for two months now and I'm being told it'll be another EIGHT WEEKS before it's fixed. Admittedly the insurance company didn't give the go-ahead for the repairs until about 3-4 weeks ago, but the garage has the new body work and still want me to wait two more months.
I'm not an expert but I'd have thought 2-3 weeks is enough to bond the new bodywork and respray and a few days at most to bolt the other bits on.
I'd appreciate any comments about similar experiences.
It took Tower View about a month to make a new body section for the rear of the V8S, and fit it. Different car, and I guess there are more bits and pieces to sort out at the front of the Griff, but on the other hand your people probably aren't making the new body section as well?

The chap at tvr that made most of the Griff bobies says you can lay up and release from the mould a new body in under 1 day... he did quote a number of hours but carnt remember.. another two monthes i think they are taking the p*ss. probably finished it and are driving round in it, or they 've finished it and crashed it , or carnt more likley they have so much work on after the snow we had a while a go they havent started yet..
