Non-parking wipers
Discussion
OK I know this is an old subject but I'm still not sure. My wipers simply stop wherever they are when I switch them off. Some say it's a corroded connection under the motor, some say it's a relay - now I see there's a 'park switch' as well.
So which is it? All input welcome - I'm sure it's simple.

It's almost certainly the park switch, as it tends to sit quietly corroding in a pool of water underneath the wiper motor.
Un-bolt the bracket which holds the wiper motor in place, and lift up the motor (you don't have to disconnect the linkage to the wipers). The park switch is the small plastic assembly into which all the wires are plugged. Disconnect the wires, noting where they came from, and remove the switch by sliding it down and toward the front of the motor.
A new switch is about 6 quid from your dealer - refitting is the reverse of removal except that you might want to cover it in waterproof grease to stop it corroding again.
