my central locking seems to have given up. when i press the alarm remote the indicators flash and the alarm sets (and unsets) fine but there is no sound from the central locking. a couple of weeks ago it was working fine, then it started making a clicking sound but not locking and now it has stopped completely. i have checked the door switches on the sills and they seem to be ok (not stuck, grimy or damaged). could it be the solonoid for the door locking mechanism - and if so does anyone know where is it located and how can i test/check it?

Are the doors coming into contact with the switches on the sills properly? Mine did the same when the little sponge pads on the bottom of the door fell off, stuch a thick bit of black plastic there instead and Bob's your uncle.

JUst had a very similar problem. Sounds like the solenoid. Heard a click but the drivers door would not lock. Had it fixed today!

Had a similar problem on mine. I eventually traced it to the mechanism on the driver's side being jammed by one of the bolts that holds the latch in the door pillar. I think somebody had experienced this before, because I removed all three bolts, to find that one had been attacked with a hacksaw and was slightly shorter than the others. Not sure if this will solve your problem, but it's worth a try.

many thanks for all the advice but the locks refuse to work. i think it must be the solonoid. any ideas where this is located in the griff and how easy/much it is to replace?
