Could someone with a newish griff with standard suspension, or an older car with new (standard) springs & dampers do me a favour:
Measure the distance from the top of the rear wheel rim to the wheelarch.
TIA Ian.

Hi Lads,
would you mind posting your findings as I have just bought a Griff that is fitted with adjustable suspension. I was wanting to check the rear ride hight to make sure it was right.

This mainly due to the large camber at the rear and I wasnt sure if this much is standard.

Cheers.

I have seen as much as three inches difference in ride heights! Not only that it seemed to vary depending which shocks/springs /CD autochanger and so on that the car was fitted with and whether Blackpool won that week.

From a handling point of view, the lower the car the better but it reduces ground clearance. If you have problems with rear camber, set the ride height to waht you want/feel comfortable with and then get the geometry checked and adjusted if necessary.

I also forgot to mention that it also depends on which tyres the car wa fitted with as well! And how worn they are!

Powelly's car had 145mm from the top of the rear wheel rim to the wheel arch - he has standard suspension.
Mine was 140mm - I have adjustable suspension (& I've been fiddling to try & get a balance between handling/ground clearance).

Thanks for that guys, I will be having a look over the next few weeks, I know its got avo adjustable suspension on but im not sure what they are like on griffs (good/bad) as I am still new to it all.

one thing i have noticed is that the tyres are oki on the outside and nearly bauld on the inner so im going to have the camber looked at as I will be going through tyres prematurely otherwise.
