I was wondering if someone would be able to give me a pointer on this one. I am new to TVRs and at present in the market for a Griff 500.

A (clued up) friend and I went to a dealer on Saturday as saw a car (I am not buying this one by the way). We noticed that the rear types were very street legal on the outside edges and almost bare on the inside edges.

Is this normal of the marquee? As I said, I am not buying this one, however it would be good for future reference

Not a common problem. If they are set up properly the tyres should wear quite evenly - on mine, for example, both the inside and outside edges are wearing.

Sounds more like some japanese performance cars, especially imports, which wear on the inside because the set up is all wrong for UK roads - it's a puzzle why a TVR isn't set up well - or it needs some attention!!

Thanks for the reply. I aggee, it looks as though the car has something not quite right. I don't know about the level of adjustment (if any) on the rears but I wouldn't mind betting it is going to be expensive to put right.

Camber & track can be adjusted on the rear. I believe (haven't checked) that a suspension geometry check is part of the TVR service schedule.

Yes it is - Henley Heritage publish the service schedules on their website www.henley-tvr.com which is real handy
