Some years ago I worked at Bell and Colvill at West Horsley. Martin Colvill owns/owned an original Gulf coloured GT40, maybe this was what you saw.

I've seen that car to. The guy lives in Fleet (I've seen it on his drive several times). But I guess I shouldn't say exactly where

Just seen that what is presumably this car was up for sale in last month's MotorSport magazine, with photo. Described as:

GTD40, built by Brian Pepper, Reg L40 GTD, Adjustable road/track suspension, modified usable Ford 302 + spare engine, Modified Girling brakes, twin fire extinguishers, fuel tanks, fuel pumps & electrical cut-outs, 8,000 miles, Gulf colours, the ultimate track and fast road car? £25,000

The owner's name and phone numbers were listed too, but I won't put them on the web without permission. If someone wants the contact details, I could pass them on in reply to an email request (to John@RutTheNut.com). It was a Fleet style phone number.

Then again, this was in the May 2002 issue of the magazine, so the car might have been sold already.

Regards,
John Rutter

Someone was recently advertising a Gulf colour GTD40 for sale that had been used in the latest Bond film. You actually caught a glimpse of it in the trailer at the cinema...
