I've noticed particularly on motorway runs that the front of the bonnet tends to lift, normally when passing trucks at... er... 70ish. I checked this out and found that the nylon rollers had worn. As an interim fix I tightened themand wrapped them with sellotape(sp).

Now I know I will need to replace them, but does anyone know whether these are bespoke TVR items? Are they window winders off a 747?? or has any one found a better solution. The old rollers coming out of the runners is a well documented problem (which so far I haven't suffered).

Any way I'd be grateful for any thoughts

Cheers Dan

Ah!

Thought the bonnet movement was all part of the fun.............don't they all do that?

get a bike inner tube, snip off a bit & glue it onto the roller. Job done - no more wobbly bonnet.

I had that on mine ... the bonnet shakes up and down
when I'm traveling at 130 ~ 150 mph (in Germany of course !)

I solved mine by adding a bit of new fibre glass gel coat to the end of the bonnet run (where the nylon bobbins run in).

You can get the fibre glass kit from Halfords and it costs about £10 or less... and you just paint in on with a brush.. wait for it to dry... sand it down a bit
to fit !
