Hi everyone,
I was just thinking about Tiff Needell's original Griff test in Top Gear, in 1992 ("This is NOT a car for wimps!"). Would anyone have any idea where to get hold of it? Surely someone must have a copy on a tape somewhere, or transferred it to digital?
Many thanks,
Onno

JazzyO, the 500 review you're referring to is from an Autumn 1993 episode that coincided with the 500 review in the first Top Gear magazine (I think). I didn't see it when it was aired so have no idea if the short clip of it from the 1997 Top Gear Special, in the above links, is pretty much it or if originally it was a longer feature?
It would be good if someone had it, either digital or old VHS copy, as I've never seen the '93 version online. If someone does have an old VHS copy, converting them to digital is not too difficult these days, and I'd be more than happy to do it.

Hi,
Slighty different thing, but related - EVO magazine earlier on this year published 'Best of British Supercars', basically a collection of old articles from the magazine with an obvious theme. Inside there is a section devoted to TVR, with separate articles on the Griffith, Sagaris, Cerbera Speed Twelve and Tuscan convertible.
The Griffith article was on one of the last 100 Griffs (SE model?) and the comparison to one of the first Griffs that they had also tested on the same roads in the Lake District nine years earlier in 1992. They seemed to be impressed with the car, giving it five out of a five star rating.
Well worth a read.

There is a TG review of the best 100 cars that was posted on YouTube in 7 parts. It could be they've taken it off w.r.t. copyright violation. I managed to copy them to my hard drive. I'll see if I can find a way of posting them somewhere when I'm back in the 1st world, one week from now.

Sorry Onno, I mean the last 100 Griffs, the SE's. I could swear I have seen either Tiff of Clarkson review the SE model Griff. I may have dreamt it though
I remember it. It was Tiff Needell, and filmed on the front at Blackpool. The blue Griff clip in Blackpool Rock is a shortened version of the full test, broadcast several years earlier (1993?)

Did anyone manage to find the full tvr Griffith 500 top gear review. I’ve been looking for this for years I found another snippet on Vimeo, and another from the tvr story but that’s about it. I know it’s longer as the car was parked and they showed interior shots etc. if anyone has this can I have a copy please.
