It was a few years since my Griffith boot didn't remain closed, it went up and down but it didn't lock.
The other day the guy in the paint shop had the great idea of putting some fuid to release the closing sistem, so it closed ermetically BUT...BUT I don't know now how to reopen it!banghead

The button on the dash that opens the doors seems that does not open the boot...any trick to get there without needing to dismantly the half rear part of the car?

Thanks a LOT...

Does the button on the dash open the doors? I thought it only locked them. I hate the damned thing so never use it.
I think thats the left side of the pair of two isn't it.

The boot opener is the right side of that pair.

Boot release only works with the ignition turned on and is to the right of the door lock button

I know some boot release buttons have been hard wired to save inserting/turning the key.

I've tried the button...it doesn't workeither withor without inserting the key, I'll have to do it manually following the procedures a forum friend has explained to me...

Guys - Please don't put too much information on here about how to get into our boots nono - this is a public forum after all.

Panic - if you need more info, most of the people on this thread (inc me) will be able to help if you PM them.

Resurrecting this thread, I think the solenoid has failed on the boot opening switch on the dashboard in my Griff. It has been getting more difficult to open the boot over the past few months. Now it won’t open at all. Can anyone give me a tip on how to fix it or at least open the boot so I can get some fuel into the tank. Thanks

It is far more likely to be the boot soleniod failed or lack of lubrication of the latch making it too stiff for the soleniod to deal with.
I will send PM

My boot has been getting more and more difficult to open, I think I'll just ignore it and may be it will fix itself laugh

Hopefully Steve has sorted you? I don't know if they all have a "secret cable" mine has.

The secret cable is to open the doors, you still need to get into the boot first.
