Door not shuting.
Discussion
I have had this on-going problem with my 500 since I've had it (22 months). Sometimes when I go to shut the door (either door) it won't shut. It just won't catch and hold. I have to keep pressing the button or pulling the lever and eventually it shuts and holds.
I lock the doors everytime I drive it as they have a tendency to fly open if I hit a rut. Has anyone had this problem or can tell me what's happening with the mechanism?

Hi Darren
I had the same problem in my '96 Chimaera. Not sure that a Griffith has the same but If I remember the dealer told me that they used Vauxhall catches and were prone to going. I popped along one saturday morning and 20 minutes later I was away and then 6 months later the other side went!!

Have had a similar problem on one door where it won't stay shut until you pull the lever a few times and the other which won't open. Just needs some TLC to the mechanism, I think! Not to the severity that you seem to be "enjoying" (and certainly not flying open under its own free will!!), but, although fiddly, the mechanism is easy enough to get to? Is it something as relatively simple as the cable snagging or not springing back?
