I want to fit a CD autochanger (6 or 10 stack) in the boot of my Griffith but am concerned as to where exactly to mount it.

There have been lots of previous mentions of people mounting them on top of the fuel tank behind the rear bulkhead in Chimaeras, but with the smaller boot in the Griff I'm worried this would get in the way of storing the targa roof panel, which is hard enough at the best of times.

I know this probably seems like I'm going over old ground but I've tried the search facility and come up blank.

Cheers,
Chris

P.S. If poss, don't want it to go in main cabin in recess behind seats for security/water leak reasons.

Yep, mine was on top of the tank on the other side to the petrol cap. It did rub very slightly on the roof edge so put it on the petrol cap side to be safe.

This was a 6 disc changer btw. It will fit in no worries..

Ditto on that Rich, although while we are here does anyone have problems with the connections of the Pioneer face-off stereo? A small bump and it turns off - very frustrating I'm putting up with it for the time being but is there anything obvious I can do rather than a new stereo?

Thanks for the info everybody.

Has anybody managed to squeeze in a 10 disc changer?

My last griff it was between the tank and the off side wing, against the wheel arch. It was only velco'd. My latest griff it is again velco'd to the board above the tank on the off side. The cars carpet type stuff is great for velcro'ing. You only use the hooky half of the velcro.Hooky, technical term!

I would appear to have a false removable panel above the tank as the car had rear speakers fitted from new, so the room is limited... has anyone fitted it to the rear most part of the boot i.e. directly uder the boot catch or similar?

But doesn't the CD skip like crazy anyway with the hardness of the ride?

2 thinks to watch for. Mine had a 10 disc changer fitted on the L/H side of the boot chelf. I changed it for a six disc and they put it on the boot shelf right in the middle which made it tricky getting the roof in.

Also, on the right hand side of the shelf under the carpet is the fuel guage sender switch (think its called that). My hi fi dealer accidentally broke that without knowing, so my fuel gauge didnt work.

guys the solution to this dilemma is to modify the exhaust then it doesn't matter where you put the changer, you wont hear it if it does work, you wont hear it if it doesn't work and you'll never use it anyway
