Recieved one today from our Resident Mr david Beer of Modwise
Well what can i say, what a superb product. takes the pee out of the feeble effort of a stay TVR had put on them.
It fits to the fittings that were used for the old stay. Two bolts and hey presto your Telescopic stay is up and running and a hell of alot sturdier than before and no worries in the wind and you should have to get a burnt hand to which is a bonus

Cheers David.

I also have a couple of other goodies to fit to the Banana and will keep you all posted.

I opted for the Simpo Two stay. It features an anodised aluminium cross-reinforcer, modified top mounting, and new lower mount lovingly designed and created from ally and mounted behind the expansion tank.

Well I like it!

May well be going for a few more mod-wise bits next year. The help I've got from David so far for the bits he's done for me (and other tech problems he's answered too) has been superb. So easy to fit aswell!
Cheers David

Am I right in thinking the Modwise bonnet stay does away with the plastic clip inside the bonnet?
Hope so mines bust.

Somebody else posted a topic about replacing the clip not so long ago. I think that it does from the pic but am not 100% sure, sure somebody will answer. Modwise are at www.mod-wise.com the page is www.mod-wise.com/page4.html

Yes, it does - the modwise one is a telescopic kind of thing that bolts to the underside of the bonnet where the original stay went, the other end bolts to the bit on the inner wing where the original stay was stuck to hold the bonnet up. Crappy little plastic TVR clip (or tywrap in my case) No Longer Required

Chaps, I fitted prototype number two to my Griff and as you say it's an excelent soilution to the problem.

One question/thought David (if you're reading this). Any chance of using a quick-fit ball sockets (like TVR use on the hinges) on the bottom end of the stay to allow the bonnet to be easily removed? I know dealers like to do this when working on the engine. Rich...

Actually if you remove the spring it will pop out of its socket, not a sloppy fit though so might need a bit of "tugging".

Have also fitted this to my Griff and am very pleased with it.In addition I've fitted Modwise's 2 stage fan mod, central locking glove box and boot release kit all of which are great - particularly the boot kit which saves all that opening the car, switching on ignition and pushing button nonsense.
