hi,
nice grey (through my shades anyway) TVR Griff. A120, heading east to Braintree, from Dunmow.

I pulled up behind you on my XJR, flashed, you waved - I tried to point at your PH sticker, and nearly went head on with a bloody Volvo !

Stopped at roadside, but you went zooming past. Nice exhaust tone!!!

I went past on the way to the Gerricke shop at Free port, you went somewhere, I dunnow where.

Would have had a chat if you'da stopped.

Nice car. Good to see you weren't sparing the horses too much.

hertsbiker, That was me! I was on a mercy mission to B&Q (any excuse to get out in the sun).

Thanks for the compliments, the car got quite a bit of interest at B&Q as well.

What is the Gerricke shop? Is that the bike shop near Pizzahut?

Ah, so I finally got to see one of you.
Yep, Heine Gerricke is the bike shop near to Pizza Hut. Good place to meet up with people.
I'd be interested in comparing vehicles some time, maybe one day I'll meet up with you lot at a pub or something.

Got to ask, how loud is my bike?

hertsbiker, It sounded sweet the second time you overtook as you were giving it some! Its always hard to hear other's as the wind noise in mine is very loud. Having said that I saw a Westfield coming out of Chelmsford yesterday that made mine sound quiet.

cool !

I'm still getting used to no fairing. With plastics and right gearing, that bike should make 150-160, but without, I struggled to 130 ! (which was what you heard). That's about 8000rpm in top. Made my neck pump up!!

Was walking into the Gerricke shop, when I heard the Griff roar down towards Freeport. Loud or what?!

I am surprised Plod doesn't pull you over for it. If you were on a bike they would.

Oh, me missus likes your car. Think if we win the lottery, we're getting one.

They have, but instead of doing me for the noise he did me for speeding.
I didn't realise it sounded quite as good as it did until I let the missus drive it past me last night, couldn't stop smiling!!

I must add for the benefit of Mr Meacher, that at no times did we exceed the speed limit, or venture into the country. And no fun was had at all, and the noise levels were quieter than a church mouse on Saturday. Infact no one even noticed a grey car and blue bike on the A120. No Sireee. Deny everything.

Since when did people in Volvos look out of their windows?? Why do they need to with all those safety systems saving them the bother of looking where they're going ??

Ooops !

Actually I got back on my side of the road in plenty of time (few nano seconds), but probably long enough to make him wonder what I was going to do! My mistake, sorry! I was so impressed to see a PH sticker. Wouldn't make a good reason for crashing though. Try explaining *that* to the insurance company...

I've seen worse

"whilst riding under the influence of alcohol I stacked my bike"

I'm sure the insurance co. were very understanding.

However if a rider/driver was under the LEGAL limit, then I am sure they are obliged to payout still?

Interesting point this.
