I've had my Griff 500 for approx 3 weeks now ,
after filling up approx £44.00 of optimax I get
only 220 miles before empty.
Is this Normal !

My BMW 330 will do double on the same amount of
petrol.

Only normal driving + the odd squirt to make me smile.

Daz,

I think you should tell us your secret, cant say I've ever had more than 200m out of a tank.

Welcome to the world of Griff ownership !

ps - an investment tip, it may be worth buying shares in Shell transport & trading Co.

One of the unique features of a Griff is you can actually see the petrol gadge move as your driving along!!!!!

Even though this I still reckon you can't beat it pound for pound of enjoyment!!!

220 pretty good. Try harder and you'll be lucky to top 180.

Was really kind on a long run and reached 240 ish once!!!

Yes your right, you can see the needle move on the
fuel gauge when you put your foot to the metal!.

I'm Glad we are are all getting the same, and that there's nothing wrong.

Should have bought a 4.3 precat - 25 mls per gallon equals approximately 300 mls per tank!

Your 330 was either being towed or has a faulty clock then

I always got twitchy after 200 miles in mine. Never ran out mind you and probably got 230 once. I did "enjoy" the car tho.

*edit* I also remember putting more than £44 in and that was 2-3 years ago. Can anyone else back this up? Sounds like a small tank to me.

Unfortunatley not far enough!

But who cares, it's a TVR.

I get about 250 on a full tank.

Hey Das
I run both too. I figure 190ish for the Griff, 300 to bone dry for the Bimmer which I tend to drive at full chat everywhere. Optimax helps on the Bimmer and of course is required drinking for the Griff.

I don't measure the miles per gallon - the smiles per mile is what counts

From my 500, 220mls on a good day. Das - with all due respect, just what the feck do you expect from a 5l engine that gives this sort of performance. And if you think fuel consumption is a surprise, just make sure you check the oil level regularly

As someone already said - it's the smiles per mile that you're really paying for, and they're few and far between in a bee-emm IMHO.

200, that's pretty good, get about 150 with mine but I don't use it everyday so when I do I tend to boot it a bit.

Anyway, welcome

So, it's something to do with the law of diminishing returns, then!

The longer you have the car the less powerful it becomes and the more Optimax it drinks!

Be warned!

When we bought Wol, as long as we got over 18 to the gallon, it was ok. We actually get 22-24mpg, and 44-48spg (smiles per gallon).

Happy bunnies.
