White Pearl Griff
Discussion
I noticed the one for sale at Newtown has disappeared off their web site now.
Does anyone know how many original White Pearl Griff's there are?
I have some press pictures which shows one with a gold Chimp and a puprle Cerbie. It is shown as M51xRCW.
I understand their is also a press picture in front of an amusement arcade (think it was Mr B's). Does anyone know which one this was and does anyone have the picture?
There was also one used as the pace car at Brands for the TVR 50th Anniversary in 1997. Again, anyone know any details?
Sorry, bit boring for the non White Pearls but would much appreciate a response.

That was Dads. He ran it as a company car but it was also the press car.
It was sold to a guy in StAnnes about 3/4 years ago. Its serviced by the factory.
There was another one in Blackpool - its more white than Dads (the factory have never been able to get the same colour even though its the same formula etc).
The first pearl while colour was on the Holden TVR.

Edited to say: we have the pics at home. and the gold Chimp was run by Dorothy Cureton (of cureton green fame)

Newtown motors has the picture of the car outside the amusement arcade and an even better one of it under the Blackpool tower. I tried to buy the car but somebody got there first.
By the way does anyone know of a low mileage (up to 20k) light coloured (silver, Pearl white, light blue) GRIFF that needs a good home ??

David Gerald TVR in Worcester have a beautiful Paris Blue over Wedgewood Griff just come in. Used to belong to a PHer (andys griff I think he signs on as) and I know he looked after it very well.
No sure on the miles but it is a fantastic looking car and in great condition...
Could be worth giving them a bell (01386 793237), its not on the website yet...
Cheers

Photos don't seem to do it justice though. In the sunlight the yellow/white flip looks great! I'm not sure I'd like the job of keeping it clean though. Did that car have black hide Claire?
DJ
Yep. It was actually quite easy to keep clean, beacuse of the colour it neaver looked smeary.

Claire,
Do you know the total produced?
What was the chassis number? Not sure if you can do this but would like to know if ours has any history.
By the way it does show the crap as does any very light/very dar colour - not helped by the alarm going haywire on Sunday whilst we were in Edinburgh and having a number of neighbours and parents mauling who didn't have a clue how to get in never mind open the bonnet, play with fuses, fix the alarm etc. A fun 2 1/2 hours on the mobile that was. Think it was water getting onto the connector by the siren. Fixed I hope by putting a section of bicycle inner tube and insulating tape at both ends.
The car gets used daily and we've been away the last 2 weekends so it'll definately be getting cleaned this weekend (weather permitting).
Nice to see light colours as most newer cars tend to be darker.

Hi
No idea. I guess not many is the answer, I know of 4 including my Holden TVR and the press car.
No idea for the chassis number and I suspect its not for pubilc knowledge. You can ring the factory and have a history search on your car for a fee. The Press Griff as I said was sold to a guy in St.Annes and he still has it (or did 2 months ago). Very few of the press cars are now in the pubilc domain, they are normally kept for the car pool.
What I meant was after washing it wasnt necessary to do a polish as unlike dark colours it didnt show up smearing. Dirt mostly showed up in winter with sludge/gritting etc. Dust wasnt a major problem.

Have you bought the press griff or is it another Pearl White Griff...?
You are best taking the car to the factory and get their opinion. I know its a difficult colour to match. The press car was done and a guy ordered one in the same colour, the factory mixed the paint as per the press car and it came out a lot whiter, they couldnt understand why.
I would hazard a guess at yes it was the car in 97 but as I can only just remember the weekend....dont quote me. If you can find a picture then I can tell you.
I do remember one year, parents were on holiday, I was recovering on the sofa from a night out and I swichted on the Goodwood Festival of Speed and saw Dads car (the white pearl press griff) flying round the track...I panicked, ran outside and sure enough it was sat outside. Turned out it was a repeat. It was driven by Roop's (my boyfried) Dad - John Kent who was one of the factorys TC drivers.
