there's a little black switch / button by the passenger's right knee in my Grrrrrriffith. I don't know what the hell it's for, and it doesn't appear to do anything...

I noticed it whilst attached my accumate charger to the battery (a second career as a contortionist beckons...) a couple of weeks ago.

Any ideas? (about the switch, not my career)

Err... he said by the *passenger's* right knee. AFAIK the dash lights would always be on the drivers side. Could be something extra that a previous owner fitted - immobiliser or something?

The dash light switch is not even by the driver's right knee, it's by the left.

Woof!

Hmmm. Looks like I'll press it a few times when driving / engine on / engine off / immobilised etc to see if it makes any difference to anything!

Thanks for the suggestions though!

On the subject of mystery switches, I've got one too. My Griff's a '97 500 & it's a LHD. Dash dimming switch is by driver's right knee and right in front of it there's a small button-type micro-switch with a tiny red light on it which comes on when pressed. Haven't been able to figure out its function & previous (first) owner was none the wiser. Any ideas?
