Does your Griff have a label on the NEARSIDE inner wing?
I've seen one on some cars - in pictures.
Mine ('92 4.3) doesn't have one (the VIN plate is on the o/s inner wing).
Should it have one?
What should it say?

Er, IIRC (can't remember when I last looked under the bonnet - only joking! checked last Sunday) mine's on nearside.

Amateur theory:

But before you get anxious, it might be one of those things that depended upon which day of the week or which guy was working on that bit of the production line.........

Expert opinion, anyone?

Mine has two - both shiny silver, one small and one big, to do with type approval. And as I just discovered impossible to photograph in a garage!

Yeah, my type approval plate/label is next to the VIN plate. I'll have to see if I can find an example of this label I think I've seen 'in the flesh'.

And they all have that little scratched out bit where the bonnet support rubs.

Ah...that'll be it. Wonder where mine went?!
I notice you have 3 plates/labels on the o/s inner wing too - I only have two: VIN and Type approval.
What's the third?

Its a sticky back version of the "British National Type Approval" with the approval number.

jigs, since the wee gromet disintegrated i carry the bonnet stay in the passenger footwell now so as not to get that rubbing on the inner wing, plus its quieter.
