Been out for a run today, everything working fine.
Tried my new timing gaget out timing 0-60 time etc. after agood few runs the red light above the green indicator light started to flicker. on further invesigation a noticed the volt meter was reading 12v when it normally reeds 13ish. decided at this point it was time to come home. on the way home the light went out for a while then came back on again. When parked in the garage with the engine switched off and ignition on i'm only getting the yellow oil light on and not the red light or the battery light. Decided to leave it for a few hours before invesigating and now when switching on all is fine all lights are on and when the engine is started it charges at 13ish volts.
Could this problem be a lose connection around the alternator area or should i be looking else where?
Any advice appreciated, thanks!!

There seems to be different opinions on this but, my alternator fuse broke apart and the only symptom was the volt guage showing lower, the "charge light" did not come on as the alternator was "giving out". Maybe some alternators show different signs! I would look there first(under the car) as it sounds like you have been having fun ! Does your thingy do 1/4 mile times ?

Thanks!

Yes it does 1/4 mile times. I can consistently get 4.8 to 60 and 13.4ish to the quarter. It is a skill to get it off the line correctly one i have not yet mastered. I'm sure with practice i could run low 4's to 60 and this would bring the quarter more into the book time of 12.50ish. The car is totally standard by the way with two blokes in it.

Mine is standard but I didn't get two blokes in mine - should I complain?

Childish isnt it,my sat nav does the 1/4 mile times and 12.7 is now my best. I do not try all the time its just that it stores the top ten and also where and what time of day.
