After paying a 'professional' alarm installer to remove my old alarm (no key fobs) and installing a new one the car wont start. After initially believing there was a problem with the ignition amp this was tested revealing no faults. So left on drive in bits. I have spent several hours testing everything and found that although the injectors have power they are not pulsing when the engine is turned. Is there anything under the dash which could have been disturbed or should i be looking at ECU repair?

It obviosly worked before! But did it work (fire up) directly after the new alarm was fitted?
If not, the installation could be the cause!

Not sure but have you tried resetting the ECU.

Does sound a bit dodgy that its after a new alarm has been put in.( I take it its under warrenty, get them back).

As tempting as it is to "have a look" I think in this instance I would have resisted the urge and simply called the chap back to look at the issue. No question! Rich...

You've got me feeling a bit nervous now...

Our Griff goes in tomorrow for the alarm to be repaired - lights flick and the doors lock, but there's no siren!

I just hope it comes back OK. We had problems with the alarm on the Chim a few years back and the garage weren't able to fix it and we had to 'break-in' to the car every now and again

Been on to the company again. They are going to send out the fitter again and if he cant fix it they said to get a TVR specialist to look at it and they will cover the cost through their insurance. The bloke cant come till Sunday tho.

So this fitter took your money and left, knowing (presumably since he would have had to test it) that he had left the car broken? Surely the company don't condone that!

If the injectors 'have power' would that not mean they are constantly open (whilst they have power), flooding the engine with fuel?

Sounds odd.

There's a wire from the ignition amplifier which crosses the left hand cylinderhead and disappears into the loom on the bulkhead (on my '93) which provides engine speed info to the ECU. Check it's in tact.

But I'd wait for the 'expert' to come back myself.

Checked the wire best i could at the time. All appeared OK. The reason the car was left non running was the electrician took the ignition amp away to test it. I collected it from him hence car still non functional.
