Don't normally venture over these parts but just had to tell you I spotted a twin-turbo 456bhp Griffith 500 on sale in Autocar.

Full spec is: 456bhp Cosworth pistons, water injection, MBE F1 T5 gearbox, factory roll cage. Excellent cost effective entry to drag racing / sprints, 8,000 miles, road legal, MOT etc.. £25,500

Mental or what!?

No John, isn't it the one that's been mentioned a lot on previous threads, have you seen them? If you look it's been all over the shop I quite like it and have been involved with this stuff before.

Had a quick look back through past threads to see if it had been mentioned recently, but hasn't.

Would be a fun drive I bet!

Did anybody ever hear that urban myth about the US military guy who nicked a rocket propulsion unit from work and strapped it to the back of his pickup truck ? He took it out to a desert highway to try it out.

They found the charred remains of him and his motor halfway up the side of a cliff, they reckon he got airborne at 300mph about half a mile before the point of impact !

480BHP Griff suddenly comes to mind - Scary or what?

yup remember that one - First read it on the Darwin awards - they didn't know if it was true or not at the time - a c130 jato pack I believe they said.

I did about 150 miles in it a while ago and hated it!

The only reason being that my 4.5 Cerby felt like a diesel for the next few days. The Griff runs a TVR race spec V8 prepped by TVR power with the additional humungous twin turbos done by Courtney Turbos. The installation is beautiful and it was obviously a cost no object jobbie. Flicking thru the bills I reckoned the engine alone cost someone over 20k. Then theres the box, diff suspension, body mods etc.
It is awesomely s**tscaringly fast and the most intimidating car I have ever driven. Lays black stripes at will at seemingly any speed and I am still on the medication. Was 488 at the wheels when I checked the dyno print. Was also told that it goes airborne at around 170. Car now lives in Cheltenham area IIRC. Lucky bugger.

call me mad, but this sounds rather enticing :-S
it'll be my death i'm sure of it...
