Out of interest, has anyone actually put a AJP8 in a Griff for road use, and fulfilled PW's vision for 1993?I suppose the original factory prototype was broken up ,anyone know?
Always been curious to know what it would have been like and how the Griff would be regarded today if the 500 had never been produced instead.

An interesting proposition I'd say! Somewhere there is a picture of a silver or grey (monochrome pic) Griffith show car at Earl's Court in the early 90's with the TVR and model badging on the rear in the AJP8 cross cut style font. It was clearly intended to be done! Rich...

p.s. jyust had a quick search through my books but can't find the pic but I know I have seen it - anyone?

I think the silver car was a non-runner, there is a good picture of the AJP8 installed in a dark coloured Griff on page 114 of John Tipplers TVR History of Transport book. The installation is dated as November 1994,with very fancy exhaust plumbing.

The original Griffith AJP show car was Ocean haze but not sure if it actually had an engine in it, The "wheeler Griffith" had an AJP, it was pearl white 94', understand it was still being used recently.

Rich, it's John Tipplers other publication, Suttons Photographic History of Transport series, softcover with a red V8S on the cover.

Just looked in a 96 autocar mag

Main feature is a purple speed 12 at the british motor show, also the same page says
Speed six Griffith for 97

AJP6 in two capacities 3.5- 380bhp 280lb ft
4.1- 330bhp 330lb ft

will be offered with revised front and rear styling, front indicators housed inside the headlights while the rear has multiple lights and brake lights. A new interior to echoe the cerbera's
cost the same as griffith 500 £35000
Theres a nice picture showing the speed 6 engine in the new shape griffith ( the car is bright yellow)

Shame it never went into production , i guess the tuscan was produced instead?

That's what's great about TVR - they make it up as they go along and aren't afraid to make U-turns or even complete 360 degree turns.
