Hello
Having not used my griff 500 for nearly a month i pulled it out the garage at the weekend to stretch its legs, On turning the starter key all i got was a click followed by a twinging noise when releasing key, however after 4 or 5 attempts it finerly turned and started striaght away (what a sound!!!).
It then proceeded to run rough and cut out afew times (4) in the first mile. Once the motor was warm i gave it a good pasting and it settled down lovely.

Has anyone else had problems when leaving there car for longish periods?
Having now done 100miles over two days at the week end it has ran fine and starts first turn as before!
I'm now worried that laying it up for winter is not such a good idea, but starting the motor every week just to get it warm can't be very good either can it?. any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Ps I'd just like to add what fantastic cars they are, theres not many better feelings than driving around in a TVR, i'm coming to the end of my first year of TVR ownership and enjoyed every minute, thanks in advance for any advice.

sounds pretty normal behaviour, over the winter start it regularly, if you can, get it up on axle stands.

There is a chapter on winter lay ups in the bible.

Yeah but that's different - it's about that bloke Noah and his big boat - all those animals would make a mess of your interior.
