Griff remote boot lock
Discussion
I am getting really fed up having to turn the ignition on when I want to get into the boot. Has anyone fitted the Mod-Wise remote lock and if so, does it work?
My other thought was to rewire the boot switch to the immobiliser output, so at least the switch would work for a few seconds before and after the engine is started.

I agree the Mod Wise Kit is great. I also wrote and photo'ed my fitting experience on the Surrey TVRCC Website.

There is a way of re-wiring the Griffith/Chimaera so that when you press the phob to unlock the doors, it also opens the boot. The downside is you then have to press the boot closed, if you are not getting anything out of it.
Having pushed the boot closed and then driven to your destination, I can't remember if the boot unlocked itself when you pressed the phob to lock the doors (but don't think it did).
And of couse being thick, I don't know how to do it; but this "mod" was prevelant on a number of dealer demos circa 1998.

I fitted the magnet inside the plipper - it just fits on the button cells allowing the cover to snap back in place. Just wondering if the magnet so close to the circuit board/batteries is likely to cause any long term probs - seems to work ok so far. Any electronics experts like to comment?

If my O-level physics is still intact I'd venture that magnetism + electricity = electric motor. Has your fob exhibited a tendency to spin rapidly in your hand???
