FAO Simpo One/Two - Grating Noise

About to start a thread about grating noise when cold... found an old (May 2002) Simpo One thread describing exactly the noise mine makes...
Grating Noise
Basically from cold, mostly in reverse but also in first, a grating noise is heard, even at standstill with the clutch in. After 20 seconds or so of warming up, the noise disappears.
Methinks clutch release bearing rather than diff (still gets noise when not moving).
So question is - is this serious and for Simpo Two - has yours got worse / better???
