Funnily enough I didn't ever think ground clearance would be an issue on the Griff, since I've previously owned a Noble and that hugs the ground like an anaconda.

Unfortunately even though the Noble easily got over the big speed bump heading into the car park I use, the Griff gently grazes its exhaust on the tarmac. Very surprised by this, the Noble had a longer wheelbase and was closer to the ground.

Is this a real weak point? I drive really slowly over the bump to avoid damage. Do I need to worry about this or is another 'TADTS' ??? Sorry for the paranoia

Holland is probably the most speedbump (and speedcam) invested country in the world and i hardly ever have a problem.

Try driving diagonally accross it, ie, one wheel at a time.

yes TADTS

the flex joint from the Y section to the main system sicks out about 15mm lower than the rest of the car, causing probs.

apparently you cant lift or it fouls the gearbox

AND MINES BEEN LOWERED 15MM!!

OK going slow with a *tiny* scrape... am I likely to cause any damage? I'm guessing not, the exhaust system must be built to move around a bit anyway due to thermal expansion / engine vibration etc.

does it?? I thought they also lived in trees. Doubles the inappropriateness of the simile though

Oh 'simile'! I read that as 'smilie'...
How about 'hugs the ground like a woodlouse'? (not very good but having trouble with my analogies today)

Or, of course, 'hugs the ground like me after 8 pints of Stella'
