Would be grateful if any one could show/send me any photo's/images, of the power steering installation on any pre-serp Rover V8, to give me an idea of what parts I need to get hold of, to retro fit it to my Griff 500. If anyone's actually ever done the job, would also be info for any potential pit falls. I believe the system is mainly Range Rover with a TVR rack.

Excellent guillotine, thanks very much, Monday would be fine. Any chance of letting me know the part numbers of the associated components, if they are visible ??

Wixer.

Well if it's non standard and messed about with my guess would be Regal Engineering at Mount Sorrell, Leics! They do a lot of this stuff

You will need a TVR rack, TVR special steering column shaft and UJs for the rack. TVR custom pipework to connect rack to the PAS pump (again you can get this made locally) and a Rover Pas pump and reservoir and various bracketing which I suspect you might need to make as well. be prepared to move things and pray that you have the right crankshaft pulley that has an extra drive position.

Total cost of new bits is around £1200 to £1500. A lot less if you can find a rear end crashed car and can salvage the bits.

Got my pre serp done at joospeed. Cost me about £800 in all. Very pleased with the result. Joolz got a rack from a busted griff and I think the eleccie pump was from a peugeot 106 (new). Needed minor change to steering rack U/J I seem to remember. Mebbe if joolz is on line he can give you the low down...

Well worth doing - nice one joolz :-)

Send you piccies if you want.

Yeh, have already recieved some piccy's from other helpful people but some more would be appreciated. Can you see the part number that's on the rack casting as this would be useful.

Thanks
