BRAKE UPGRADES
Discussion
willwood do a bolt on, but you may have to skim the front wheels (15")depends it not always required.
i think you can only go to 284 mm without a 16" wheel conversion hence high prices for 2nd hand estorils.
ap 4 pots are available from dealers but again coversions are required.
you could put larger discs on uprate your pads and use existing calipers on stand off but it gets a bit messy
'bout 2p's worth i think...

I've got 285mm discs and 4 pot calipers and they fit inside 15 and (dur or course 16 inch Chimaera wheels). Email me and I'll send you a picture back (the images are sat on my home PC and I can't be arsed to upload them).
Cost £569 all in including adapters, Mintex 1144s, discs, calipers. Dead easy to fit - just make sure your flexi hoses have the right connectors at the caliper end (might be worth buying the hoses at the same time to be sure).

As Steve said, T-V-R Services. I've just (well, Saturday) got the Chim back from having the £399 upgrade. That was for 283mm groved and drilled front discs, adapters for the current calipers, new pads and brake hoses. After including fitting you're over £600. Don't forget to include the cost of fitting in any quotes.
As for the upgrade, I'm still bedding them in at the moment. The initial pedal feel is softer but there is so much more power there when you brake harder. Much more confidence inspiring. The only downer was the car was left outside in the rain at some point and got all dirty. If that's the worst I can say then I'm a happy man.

I can second the recommendation for the Tower View 285mm setup. The car feels much better balanced with the upgraded fronts and standard rears, and there's noticeably more stopping power than the weedy old 260mm fronts.
I went for the drilled/grooved discs, red dot pads, braided hoses and adaptors. Note that fitting is not a job for the mechanically inept; there is some hole tapping and grinding of brackets to be done, and they are a somewhat safety critical part of the car...

This may be another urban myth but... if you track your car (or maybe just drive very hard from time to time) the bigger drilled discs with original callipers can crack. This may be due to the original pad being fairly small and heating the disc unevenly. (The pads fitted to 4-pot callipers are much larger.) I've been recommended to upgrade the calliper if I want to fit larger discs for this reason.
