Power steering Noise
Discussion
Sorry if this has been covered but I did a search and couldn't find anything.
My Griff 500 (1997) Power Steering has started to whine and whistle (I think it is the valve. But it is loud enough for me to hear over the engine!
So a)what does anyone think the problem is?
B)what do you think the cure is?
c) can I simply get a shorter belt and bypass the PAS and run with heavier steering for a while?
cheers all.

Check the fluid levels and top up if necessary. Look for leaks.
Don't bypass the pump as the rack is a quick rack and you will not have full control of the car.
