I know this isn't the griffith forum but I wanted to ask anyone who knew - can anyone tell me exactly what battery I need for A griff 500? I have to get one to take to the car which is somewhere else at the moment so I can't just look.

cheers

Just did a quick search in the griff forums:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/Search.asp?mode=doit&h=0

found these:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/Search.asp?mode=doit&h=0

(Type 27?)

"The Battery is a std 72 type with a crank rating of 620-630 amps.

Size of Battery for box is L 272mm, W 170, D 220.

Got mine from local motor factors."

From here...

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=36967&f=9&h=0&hw=Battery

Cheers

Also you will need one with the earth post on the right and the live on the left as you look at the battery with the terminals to the back. Otherwise the cables will not reach because they will be the wrong way round Rich...

Live is on the left with the terminals closest to you in my car.

Mine is a type 72 battery at 590amps.

When looking at the battery, the terminals are at the front with live on the left. Also my Griff500 has long cables so I had plenty of room to manouver.

My griff has long leads that allow either config to be used.
