From what I recall from the Bible - ie that the whole wing has to be pressurised before any air gets to the outlet nozzle - this seems a good idea.

When I had my 4 litre, Griff Steve Howard (now insane racing) dramatically improvement my heating (and cockpit cooling) by removing the original fan (which as you say is underneath the front NS headlight, and attempts to pressurise the wing), and replacing it with a fan from the same vehicle that the heater matrix is from (Escort ???) fitted directly onto the matrix in the inner wing BEHIND the front wheel.

As the fan works directly onto the matrix it is much more effective - whether blowing hot or cold air.

Hope this helps.

Mike.
