TVR have no more Mirrors!!!!
Discussion
Had an incident over the weekend ending in a swinging mirror from the drivers side....
Went into my local TVR garage and got them to order one asap (£160 parts un painted). They can then strip mine and rebuild it without the need to paint.
Found out this am that TVR no longer supply these mirrors for us and have no stock. I know they are Citeron designed and bread, and the production will be passed to another company for manufactuer..
Any ideas where I can get one?
Also it is rumoured that Mclaren F1 uses these mirrors (I can't beleive that )
Cheers

Nice timing to be talking about mirrors - my XJ220 ones are the knackered side of tired, so yesterday I went to Chris Neils and ordered two bases (as per Griff SE/100) to allow VW Corrado mirrors to fit on costing £20 each - I used to have one (Corrado not XJ220) and in about 6 years never had any paint flake off. Just bought 2nd hand corrado mirrors with glasses for £90 the pair today, so all I need now is someone to paint 'em up (I'm not going to bother rewiring to get the electric adjustment to work unless it looks dead easy when its all in bitz) - under £250 all in hopefully. Maybe worth thinking about if you need new mirrors, and the subject of 'how to do it' has been covered in depth before - I'm just not PC aware enough to manage a link to the previous thread...
STOP
If the mirror was left dangling, you've probably just broken the tripod (they are designed to break on impact), this looks like the end of the world as you are left with three bits of metal sticking up from the mirror collar left in the door, but is a doddle to fix. This tripod is an £8 part and HHC currently have seven of them on the shelf.
I will be replacing mine tomorrow or at the weekend as I have exactly the same problem and I will photograph the whole thing and post pics of it next week.
Don't buy a new mirror unless you really have to. !
Cheers

umm.. not really sure how to explain this, but I'll try anyway.. Ther collar is the bit with the grub screw in it that goes into the threaded hole in the wing and I'm not on about that, the Tripod is the metal bit that goes from the collar up inside the mirror body and attaches with a star drive screw to the rest of the mirror, if its broken high up it would look like it was a part of the mirror that is broke (as it is a part of the mirror ) but can be removed and replaced.. If you've managed to break something in the internal mirror frame and left the tripod intact then you've performed a miracle I reckon.
Sorry if I'm rambling, just trying to be helpful..

can someone help please.... Some evil person has broken both my door mirrors and the car is out of action until I can get them repaired or replaced.
I have searched the threads for the exact model of citroen that they come off, but the closest I can find is that they are off a CX25 or XM model. Is that the full model description?
The local citroen dealer says that model never came to Australia, so if I want them ordered, I have to be sure of the model first- and they will take 4-6 weeks. sigh.
Or is there anywhere you can point me to that I can get them freighted quicker from the UK?
