Mannings
£650 per year fully comp - Griff 500
26 yrs old, 5yrs NCD, garaged, Bedford, 7,000 miles/yr?
driven TVRs for 2yrs or so.
Exactly the same but I'm 37 instead of 26, live about 30 miles north of bouffy and have IAM (& 3 points!). £555 with Sunninghill. Unlike some, my premiums have gone down this year.

If they'll offer cover like that I can't see a Griff being too much problem... unless there's more to the story than I know about
The only thing I found when I got a quote from Tescos is that the cover is very basic. Manning and Sunninghill (I think Peart as well) include use abroad, recovery (and European recovery) and track day cover. Once you start to add some of these on to the Tesco one, it doesn't look quite so appealing.
The things that seem to bring the price down big style with the specialists are if it's a second car and if you have it on limited mileage.
when speaking to mannings the things that he said made the most difference were limited mileage, and whether I'd driven a performance car before.
With elephant.co.uk (Chim 400, £1100) my dad was also a named driver, as I was told that an older gentleman would keep the premium down. With Mannings, it would increase the premium to have him as a named driver as he does not drive a performance car day to day (although he's thinking of the new Ford GT - go on Dad!).
Depends on the broker. Well, the underwriters, actually. Direct Line are starting up a performance car underwriting operation for those with fast cars, points for speeding etc. I expect they'll charge for it though. May be worth a look, although have heard stories of them paying out claims very slowly...but then I'm sure most insurers could be accused of the same thing.
