The carpets in my Griff are looking a bit worse for wear and I want to change them. It would seem there is a hell of a lot of work in removing the carpets which would obviously incur some serious labour costs if I had them done proffesionally. Fitting the carpets once this work is done appears reasonably straight forward. Has anyone done this and could anyone recommend someone who could supply the carpets cut and edged?
I had a bash at fitting my own after realising the originals were a bit tatty. It took about 4 weekends to complete the job (took my time since it was winter, so it could be done a lot quicker)
It cost £50 altogether, that was for the carpet, insulation and glue (need a lot!) It does help having a dad who runs a carpet shop so I would say £100 if you went to a High street shop - The trick is to get the largest offcut they have as they tend to sell it on pretty cheap due to the irregular size.
I was pleased with the results and you also get to now the car a lot better when it is stripped to the bone!

Centre console had to be undone from the rear, but thankfully did not need to take it off entirely. You can pull it about quite a bit to get around the awkward edges where the carpet goes under the tunnel.
It's a scary moment as your tear away the old carpet from the hide on the console. Thats the point of no return!
The edging was done at my dads shop. As far as I am aware, most carpet shops do this sort of thing. If you have a carpet fitted, it is quite common to have large mats made up for the hall, kitchen etc. out of the remaining carpet. This edging is basically the same thing.
