..Air leaks are probably down to the B&Q plumbing that TVR uses... My 92 Griff has only ever worked on 2 speeds, the air flow was so bad that it wouldnt even demist the screem so I took the dash out and put silastic on every join and its improved the flow enough to clear the screen now, cheap and nasty materials in the first place dont help...

I'd also appreciate any help in this area. I've checked that the fans, electrics etc are all working in the footwell, but can't get a breath of fresh air out of the three air vents in my 92 Griff 4.3.

I've often wondered if the lack of cold air is down to a design fault where the hot/cold tap is not shut off fully by the servo that controls it OR if it's a case of the air being super-heated as it passes through the engine bay into the heater system? Either of these conditions should be easy to solve - Just a thought. Rich...

the intake for the air is apparently between the l/h inner and outer wing so it gets preheated by the engine, I'd love to find the time to reroute it

I'm a bit confused by this. I thought the Chim and Griff were the same, and certainly on my 97 Chim the flow diverter and temp control are not controlled by motors. I can see the dash knob moving when I move the arm on the pipework. I also think the fan is inside the car. The reason I posted this in the Griff forum is that I don't get any problems with always-hot air, so it *must* be possible to make it work in the Griff too. Are the systems really different (in which case I've wasted everyones' time...)?

Well on the Chimaera you have the big alli' knurled wheels to adjust the heater settings whereas the Griffith has little knobs which activate valves via a motor. I assume the Chimeara's wheels do a similar thing?

Same here, the aluminium trunking behind the dash that push fits to the vent had dropped off. Slotting it back together resulted in a big improvement.

MrMidlife, the 'leather flap'is inside a sealed airbox tucked up in the passenger footwell behind the glovebox, the motor that drves the flap from the air control up/down switches is clearly visible along with the micro switches that enable the motor to reverse. One of these failed on my car, result no change in flow direction, easy to check by watching the motor action as you operate the switches, might be worth a try.The motor drives the flap from a squre drive adaptor, this may have failed,if you remove the motor you can operate the flap manually.I assume the later cars are similar in operation apart from the panel switch gear to my early model.
