what fan belt??
Discussion
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Peter_Beech/TVR/parts.htm is a list of alternative parts. Unfortunately it lists Alternator Drive Belt as: ERC5836 / 2333, which is a bit meaningless.
does anyone know what model rover my fan belt is from?? i have a 92 4ltr no pas or anything. i think its from a 3.9 or a 4.6 rover but im not sure and halfords dont list tvr any help wold be rather nice
cheers
Probably the same sort as mine then (preserpentine 4.0 V8 with no ancilliaries other than the alternator). I should know what sort this is, it took me ages to match it last time, but I've forgotten what it came from. It wasn't a Rover-engined car at all - it was something completely different, Lada/Skoda ISTR.

And then when they draw a blank go to the parts stockist they recommend across town who stock thousands of fan belts of all shapes and sizes. Then get sent on to the grubby little engineering company across town which has lots of older belts and just happens to have one (but not two) exactly the right width, angle and length. Just having the QH part number isn't always enough, you have to find somebody who can cross-match it and then happens to have the right part in stock. My advice is do this *before* you need the fan belt. And if you're lucky enough to have inherited a spare belt from the previous owner (as I was) then double check it is actually an exact replacement and not just a similar looking one!
Two different sizes already!
The problem is that the belts actually are different depending on what pulleys were used and what ancillaries. A bit of difference can be adjusted when tightening the belt.

PS You did buy two - one as a spare
