Just come back from a trip Down Under and was poking around a Holden dealer looking at 5.7litre V8 Utes, weigh in at Au$30k new which at current exchange rates seemed cheap, had a chat with the sales guy who looked up the last new import price for a Griff 500 in his 'Black book', Au$167K! At 2.7 dollars to the pound roughly at the moment thats £61,851.00! No wonder you never see any out there!

NZ is pretty much the same story I gloat whenever I speak to a friend out there who can only dream of a Griff. My £15k's worth would be nearly 3 times that much at the moment and his job that would be about £50K+ here is nearer 20 there !!!!!!!

Still he has a lovely 4 bed detached over 3 floors on the banks of Auckland Harbour and a Garden that runs down onto the beach for which he's just paid £70K and a turbo nutter Jap import for about £5K. Bottom line is it's a great time to go south with pounds in your pockets just shit to export.

Yep, guy that used to work with me saved up his cash for a year and went back to NZ and bought his place outright. Plenty of `em do it, and why not..

Lee totally unrelated I know but I'll ask anyway I land in Sydney on Xmas eve for 3 days have sorted hotel and a few other bits but have you any idea does the whole place shut right down xmas day and boxing day like the UK or will there still be stuff to do and places to drink and be merry etc I'm staying right in the city (Merchant court hotel by some tower thingy) so any good pointers from a local would be well appreciated. If you can e-mail me off line it will save tying up a forum and I'll be very greatful. Oh and Ted you did say you liked the "community feel" so I thought I'd ask
