Having tried all ways to cure the rough idle and intermittent running of the pig..sorry Griff i decided to replace the spade terminals on some of the wiring under the bonnet. I did the ignition amplifier leads, temp leads etc. Whilst at it and with the engine doing a poor impression of tickover i liberally doused remaining connectors with WD. Now as i did i noticed when i sprayed around No 4 injector the car dipped badly on tickover. A ha! air leak to injector(s) = cack tickover........half a bottle of WD and 8 well doused injectors later (testing for other leaks) the car successfully runs on 4 less cylinders!!!! My local Range Rover specialist/friend says the injectors may have sucked in the WD and blocked a few causing the Ducati sound/plastic pig performance. Does this sound right and if so is it a big job to take the injectors out to send em off??

Don't entirely follow the reasoning behind that. The injector has two seals, the upper one is into the fuel rail at 30 PSI, the lower one is into the manifold (lots of vacuum) but downstream of the injectors, could it still somehow gum them up? Doesn't see likely to me. You might try disconnecting the electrical connectors, clean them with contact cleaner, see if that helps, then if you still have trouble disconnect the ECU plug and check the electrical continuity to them. If all else fails, taking the plenum and fuel rail off isn't a massive job but best avoided unless necessary (need to be very careful about cleaniness, sealing everythin again aferwards, and if you drop anything into the engine while you doing it you could be in real trouble).
