Phew, what a scorcher!
Discussion
I've just got back from my fortnightly return trip from Sevenoaks to Lincoln - always enjoyable, especially on a day like today.
The air vents in the dash of my Griff discharge air that is warm or hot, depending on where the control is set. I can hear the air flow valve working so I dont think that is the problem.
Does anyone have a Griff that blows air that is at the ambient external temperature or are they all like mine?
If they all blow out warm air (even when set on cold), has anyone done a mod resulting in cold air getting through?

I have a switch on mine that blows cool air onto the drivers face & feet, also the passengers face. Can be a life saver on hot days. I dont know what the plan was with this, as some friends with identical cars have this option & others dont!
Its under the dashboard just above my right knee, didnt know what it was when I found it, didnt like to try it out when I first got the car in case it was the ejector seat button!!

(just up the road from you in Bromley, give us a shout sometime)

Nick I think you may have resolved one of the great enigmas!! I have a switch in exactly the position you describe but since acquiring my Griff last Nov have been unable to determine its function, even the TVR specialist who serviced it recently was clueless. Like you, a bit nervous about experimenting. Will give it a go tonite & see what happens...

prop - they are all like yours My 500 went from warm to hot - never cool. I had the mysterious drivers fan which seemed to pull air in from outside the engine bay tho as it was notably cooler.
The heatsoak on that mother V8 is HUUUUGE. Try putting your arm down the outside of the door when you pull up to traffic lights or stop - the rush of air from the engine bay scorches your arm hair

I always found that if I left it on cold and
left the fan on low - then the pipes do not get
a chance to get hot.
On the Griff 500 - I believe they did not really use
pipes for the air but incorporated mouldings into
the glassfibre floor - hence when it get hot from
the gearbox & engine - it just stays hot.
When it's gonna be bloody hot - leave the fan one
fairly high even when the engine is cold - it's the
only way !

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'll have to put up with the heat as I dont have a switch like that described.
PS: Sorry for delay in my response but I only got back from Camping Blue yesterday evening. The camping experience was so unforgettable that I don't think I'll need to do it again - its a good hotel and warm shower for me next year!!
