Well left work a bit early and (that's not the happy bit) bought a little £3.99 tin of Evo glue...
My drooping heat resistant sheet stuck inside the bonnet has been looking more droopy recently..and it's a job that's been in my mind for a year or so.
It drizzled a little so removed the bonnet and moved it all through into the living room. Got a bit of a funky Evo headache now but whats a few million brain cells between friends. Got a couple left at least.
Good news was that the tin was EXACTLY the right amount to entirely cover the sheet and the bonnet. Result!
HAPPY - job done - all stuck back as it should be.
SAD - not feeling sad, oh no, but ... as I stood back to admire my handywork I decided that the heat resistant surface looked at little grubby. So I did what any sound-minded TVR does - cleaned and polished it with metal polish.
I reckon this rivals Andy (Griff2be)'s polishing of his brake lines. Though now he has sold his Griff & bought a Challenge Tuscan... imagine the car care he can enjoy now! All those sponsor stickers to peel off for a start.
Ed
where's that glue gone.. damn it's empty .. zzzz

Hmm. Well I set to work at 8pm last night removing the remanining old sponsors' stickers. The backing stickers for the race numbers and the SAS logos are the scotchlite reflective white stuff. When you try to peel them off, they come off in pieces about 1mm square. In other words, these b@stards don't come off. I left the workshop at 10.15pm having removed one whole 12"x12" sticker. Blasted things!!
Have taken the passenger door off and taken it home - guess what I will be doing tonight...
Graham b said: Griff2be, any pictures of your new motor?! What's the story, are you intending to make it road legal? Have you managed to get an engine?
Edited to say: Sorry for hijacking Edt's thread!

Hi Graham. I'm sure Ed won't mind. He's p1ssed most of the time anyway. Or high on glue!
The story is:
Split up with girlfriend
Go to (watch) racing with Steve Howard & Insane Racing
Drink beer
Mention have always wanted to race
More beer
Told to go and get race licence
Make excuses
Told not to be silly
Think about doing nice cheap series e.g. Locost
Pass race licence test
Enter a couple of races in a Caterham Roadsport A
Buy a Tuscan (how the hell did that happen?!)
Couple more races in the Caterham
Meet TVR race manager and Peter Wheeler
Agree not to drive faster than PW
Agree engine lease with TVR
Enter last 4 rounds
oh sh1t...
I have never raced before, so it will be interesting (not sure that is the right word?) to see if an ordinary/normal bloke can jump in a seriously fast race car and not crash it.
The car will be at Pistonfest in its new livery, looking very different from how it does now.
I have been speaking with PetrolTed about getting PistonHeaders involved, some details will be available soon....
griff2be - ultimate respect mate for living every red-blooded TVR owner's dream!
The question of whether a relatively experienced Griff pilot could pedal a Tuscan racer around a circuit, without making too much mess, has crossed my mind more times than I care to mention. The very best of luck with it mate!
If you want another novice to give it a bash, I'll have to try and get my MSA 'with stabilisers' (non-race B) licence upgrade.
