Driver training. Springs, dampers and a good suspension setup. Driver training. Brakes. Driver training. Rollover bar and harnesses. Driver training. More power. Driver training.

better, faster, later susp/brakes etc etc and as for sound? V8 Developments can fit you up with a pre-cat stainless jobber that'll do the biz........plus if that aint enough you can add go faster bits to a 500 too

Goz,

On my 92 pre-cat, the most improvements came with adding one piece upper front wishbones and an sports anti-roll bar for the rear.

as for braking,i've changed the original disks for larger ones and twin vented on the rear, much better. This requires a caliper change though and the newer brake bias valve has to be fitted or the rears will lock up due to imbalance.

that lot is around £600 and the rest of your dosh could be spent with Tim Lamont and Mark Adams for a carbon inlet etc and ecu.

oh, new adjustable shocks/springs and a geometry set up are well worth it too.

happy shopping

I’ll second that, Joolz did my last service and told me about his suspension mods and ideas. So I asked him about my set-up as I thought the bushes maybe needed replacing possibly along with suspension. He told me mine was fine and didn’t need any work doing at present, good bloke.

Cheers,

Simon.

Heliox - where did you get the rear sports anti-roll bar for your 4.3 and did you have to fit later 500 rear wishbones or amend the chassis to fit it?

I bought the anti-roll bar and mounts new (Kerridges) and yes the lower rears have to be changed for the 500 type as they have the mounting plates for the drop links,it was a straight swap. You have to drill a couple of holes (8mm) on the corner plates nearest the diff so as to bolt the mounting plates to the chassis.

edited to say its well worth the effort this mod as it keeps the back end solid.
