I have dedcided to spend about £8K on my 98 Griff 500 to upgrade the engine, brakes, suspenders da de da

Should I buy a Cerby or Tuscan instead? or is the allure of the Rover lump getting the better of me.

I probably need swift medical attention. Any advice would be most welcome.

What would you do???????

Keep the Griffith - more reliable and collectible than other TVRs mentioned - spend £3-4K on brakes, suspension and Mark Adams chip and rolling road tune. Then drive and be happy in the knowledge you're driving a classic in tip top mechanical order. A few years down the line you'll be glad you kept it. IMO.

Totally agree, mind you would love a 4.5 Cerby as well as me 500.

Personally i would say 8k is a bit much unless you are gonna do some serious track days.
For just a road going car i am sure you could spend half that and have a peach.
Put the rest in ta bank to get the cerbera aswell as keeping the Griffith

I may well end up spending a similar amount on my Griff but over a period of years. Roll bar and a few other bits this year, brakes next then suspension then power - that way it keeps it feeling "new" for a long time. If you're thinking of doing it in one go then be sure you want to keep it for some time as you'll not get much of that money back when you come to sell. It'll be a fantastic car though so why would you ever want to sell it?

I've been drooling over Tuscans for a while, meself. When it came to decisions about the Griff, though, I've decided to spend the money and keep the Griff. 8k might be a bit excessive and you know you won't get the money back (but it'd only go on depreciation on another car) so get on and enjoy it!
