The mirror glass started to seperate from the plastic which controls the movement. I have pulled it off without damage and removed the conectors for the demist. It was attached by what seems to be thick double sided tape, I cannot find any thing similar in B&Q, it need to be thick as the grove is resesed, and very sticky so it does not come off at speed. Has anyone else had the problem and what did they use to reattach it.

This happened on one of my mirrors to the extent that the glass fell out as I was on the motorway one day.

you'll need to get the plastic out which is a small catch at the very bottom of the mirror and slides towards the car (you can only access this when the mirror is at one of it's extreme movement positions)

with the glass and plastic removed (the glass is fixed with two push terminals to the heated element) I cleaned up the back of the glass with white spirit and then used Halfords number plate tape to fix it back, I also took the opportunity to shape the tape better for a greater 'sticky' surface area.

so far so good!
