Any one know where to get a decatted "y" piece for the exhaust system , are they easy to fit do they give any improvement or better noise without the cat , and what should you expect to pay for one.
Im seriously considering buying a full sports system but very expensive.

Iam sure there are many more qualified to answer but, i have an ACT sports exhaust and i have removed my precats, leaving the main cat and it sounds lovery! and of course it passes the mot.For track days i use add on silencers. ACT might be one source if you really want one.

Make sure you tell your insurance company - it is a modification.

im having my pre-cats removed when having my air-con fitted next month(manifolds have to come off anyway)and think this is a good starting point.i thought about the 'y' peice, but as david suggests, you still need to pass the mot!mark adams told me theres no real advantage in removing the main cat as its a high flow cat anyway and so doesnt really impede performance significantly.removing the pre-cats doesnt really improve power+1 or 2 bhp maybe, but improves sound and smooths out bottom end running(500hc engine) also according to mark,so im looking forward to seeing the results.
